Cook a Thai meal, or Indian, or Greek, something you have never dared to cook before. Make it exotic, something with far Eastern spices that will give your kitchen a foreign aroma. This will help you venture out if you are feeling stuck, or if you want to wander from the more common Italian or Mexican dishes. Look up a recipe, or pick various ingredients in the ethnic food aisle of your local grocery store and make a wonderful creation. For an extra foreign touch select an Indian, or Mediterranean playlist to listen to while you prepare and eat your meal. Recipe: Red Curry Coconut Chicken and Coconut Ginger Couscous
Go for a run, it is the perfect weather (in the South at least) to get out and run to taste the crisp, fresh Fall air. Choose great music to workout to, and just go, nothing keeps me more motivated while running than the perfect playlist. Whether it’s 2 miles or 8, your body will thank you, especially if you have been stressing about school or work. It is the perfect way to unwind and reward your body with appreciation. Set a specific time of each day or a few times a week and your body will make it a routine, so you will naturally be ready to get out and run.
Send a letter by mail; yes licking an envelope is required! I bet you can’t think of the last time you sent a letter to a friend or family member without simply clicking the “send” button. You will be surprised how appreciative someone would be if you actually go out of your way to go to a post office and dedicate a letter or note to them. Whether you send out a Happy almost Thanksgiving card, or a simple thank you note, send it via snail mail and you will instantly put a smile on somebody’s face.
Start your Christmas list, or think of something you would love to reward yourself for having such a fabulous year. Oprah came out with her Favorite Things list 2012 edition this week, and all I can say is that these Michael Kors sneakers she has, just landed a top spot of items I must have! They will be perfect for my wonderful adventures in December.
Thank you to everyone who has viewed my page! I created this blog thinking that just my friends and family would check it out once in a while. But unbelievably, I have had over 1,000 views in just three weeks, and people as far as the Philippines and New Zealand have read my blog. That inspires me to keep writing out my crazy thoughts, and I hope you look forward to all the cooking and baking ahead for the Holidays! Thanks again!
