Walnut Banana Bread

If I had to pick a month, I believe December is the best for baking, because it is perfect for sharing with your friends and family. And who can resist the delicious aroma it leaves behind? It’s the perfect treat when you have a small get together to reminisce the year behind you, and there is no better way to  share the joy with a warm, fresh out of the oven Walnut Banana Bread.

If you are feeling extra cheerful I recommend adding some dark chocolate chips for a festive touch. Trust me nobody will turn down this classic banana bread served along with some fresh hot tea or coffee.

Walnut Banana Bread

Ingredients:
3 mashed bananas
1 cup of walnuts
1 cup of milk
1½ cups of sugar
1 cup of butter, melted
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of baking powder
4 eggs, room temperature
2½ cups all purpose flour
Optional:
1 cup of dark chocolate chips

Directions:
Heat oven to 350ºF,  with an electric mixer blend the sugar and butter on medium speed, add the mashed bananas and mix in the eggs one at a time. In a medium bowl mix the baking soda and powder with the flour. Add the flour mixture gradually into the banana blend in the electric mixture. Pour in the milk and mix in the walnuts. Once the banana bread batter is well blended pour into the previously lined loaf molds.

Makes 2 banana bread loafs.

Enjoy!♥
